About Me

Picture
Picture
I was born in Denmark in northwest Jutland where the wind is so strong that all the trees point to the East. I moved to the United States fifteen years ago after I fell in love with a Brooklyn boy. After some great years in New York City, I now live in coastal South Carolina, a widow, with my daughter. I write fiction in Danish and English and study and write about history, especially Danish American immigration history and WWII.

I'm a few courses away from my master's degree in history at American Public University. My focus is Danish American immigration history and the WWII home front. I've had articles published in The Bridge and America Letter.

You can see my online exhibit about the Danish American WWII home front here: www.danesusawwii.com.
