About Me

I was born in Denmark in northwest Jutland where the wind is so strong that all the trees point to the East. I moved to the United States fifteen years ago after I fell in love with a Brooklyn boy. After some great years in New York City, I now live in coastal South Carolina, a widow, with my daughter. I write fiction in Danish and English as well as non-fiction about history, especially Danish American immigration history and WWII.

In the field of history
I have a master's degree in public history from American Public University and graduated in 2021 receiving the Graduate Scholar Award. My focus is Danish American immigration history and the WWII home front. I've had articles published in The Bridge and America Letter.
Working with the Danish American Archive and Library, I created this exhibit about the Dana College theater troupe tour of 1942: www.dana1942theword.org. My online exhibit about the Danish American WWII home front: www.danesusawwii.com. |
